About the Author
I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, during the late 50s and 60s. I attended Arizona State University, where I studied Architectural Design. After a long and storied career in the retail furniture industry, I’m now living semi-retired in Castle Pines, Colorado, working as a graphic artist for my local newspaper.
I’m a dedicated husband to wife, Sandy, and father to my son, Jeremy.
I’ve always had a passion for lifelong learning and a gift for gab, so I decided to try my hand at becoming an author where I could channel my diverse experiences into something even more creative.
Here’s my, by no means, complete list of reasons I wanted to become an author.
- I needed an excuse to buy an old-fashioned typewriter and pretend I was a 1940s novelist.
- I wanted to make my high school English teacher proud of me after years of saying, ‘You’re just not worth the effort’.
- I wanted to turn my stories into a paycheck instead of one-upmanship at dinner parties.
- I needed a valid excuse for why I spends so much time talking to myself.
- I figured writing a book was a great way to get out of household chores.
- I realized that ‘author’ looks much cooler on my social media profiles than ‘unemployed storyteller.’
- I needed a less depressing reason for people-watching in the mall.
- I saw “author” on a list of coolest professions and thought, “Why not?”
- I found out that authors get to wear cozy bathrobes and call it a ‘work uniform.’
- I saw it as the perfect plan to win future arguments with, ‘Well, I’m a published author.’
- And last but not least, I thought I might actually have something to say.
All-in-all, I’d like for you to remember three important things if you’re considering buying my book.
- “Funny You Should Ask … Tim Gamble” is more satisfying than a steak dinner with less than half the calories.
- If don’t like spending money on yourself, you can always buy it for a friend and borrow it back.
- And last but not least, I hope I can bring a smile to your face!
